Haha, good story.
Good thing that lady wasn't one of those self-righteous, busy-body types, she'd have been calling CPS over the horror and mental anguish the poor little BVites had to suffer.

BV, we know it's a stretch for you, since you don't like dogs.
However, I think Brink did a great thing, and I'm planning on calling the vets on Monday.
I do like dogs. I like dogs that belong to other people. Pet them for a few minutes and it's all good. I'm all done being a pet owner. I think I mentioned this, we had two dogs that were our 1st set of children. I did it, it was fun, now I'm over it. We had an older house and in 6 years the carpet went from brand new to completely trashed, which was fine. We sold the hosue OK, but I'm not going down that path again.
Having said that, they are pets and in the most simple meaning of the word dog, they are dogs. Personally, my maximum pain tolerance is about $500 per injury. If our dog blows out a knee, it's all over. I mean, he is a dog, right?
It sounds harsh, but it's what it is.

I wouldn't say I've been *missing* it, Bob.

Unfortunately for the little BVites, that is the least of their mental anguish and suffering!!!!!! LOL
One daughter was at the dentist on Friday. Had a baby tooth causing some pain, so the doc popped out that one and one next to it. As she was getting the topical numbing stuff (pre-novicane shot), I asked her if I could do it. There was sheer terror in her eyes and an emphatic no. The doc played along and asked her if I could do it if he showed me how etc etc. No dice. It was pretty funny.

If you cannot torture your kids, what fun is left in being a parent

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife; the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sun up. Sleep tight, mates, in your quilted Chambray nightshirts.

Actually, yeah. Miniature horses aren't really horses. They're mutants, and probably aliens if we were to investigate further.
So, BV, how much would you pay if one of your kids got hurt? More than $500?
Cause I wouldn't pay that much for a kid. But for one of the dogs or horses, I wouldn't hesitate.
I wouldn't necessarily ask any of you assholes to chip in, but that's me. I don't ask you to chip in for my student loans either.
I will, however, generously donate to the MGS fund if and when I ever win the lottery.
I think it's cool that Brinker went out of his way to rescue the dog. And he's not asking anyone for $500. He's asking if anyone can spare some coin, if they're interested. No real need to comment if you're not interested, unless it's Oat being a dick to Brinker, cause we all expect that.
Yeah, I'm probably being a bitch by saying that, but like none of you expected that from me...

And those are the days of our lives like sands through the hourglass as the world turns here at MGS hospital.
