So, it's soundink like we'll see Culpepper on Sunday instead of the rookie Stafford.  Not sure it makes much of a difference.  As it's been stated several times in several places by several people, w/out Moss, Culpepper is below average.

I still like my 31-13 prediction made earlier in the week.  Doh!  Need to do my picks, it wouldn't help the cause to forget two weeks in a row.

After the last few weeks of locks, I doubt there's much college fund left!

Nah, not touching this game.  It's a must win because of their start...and the fact that it's the frickin' Lions.

64-0.

We get out to a 52-0 lead; in the 4Q the Lions miraculously score 48 points unanswered, and then Ben takes a QB keeper from the one 99 yards for a TD.  Final score 58-48 (Reed misses the EP).

Just wondering--any reason why we don't let Moore get the ball on kick returns?

Mendy is looking real good again. Defense better play better, although Harrison looks set for a big game.

OK. That fumble is on Ben. Put it on his hip. Great effort from #34 to get the ball. Looked like he had a big hole to run through too.

Surely, there is a speedy wide receiver out there.  Somewhere.  Who can also catch the ball.

Well, at least we're not waiting until the 4th quarter to make a lot of mistakes to keep the the game close/within reach of a stupid loss.

Frustrating that we can't get off the field on 3rd and long....against Detroit without their starting QB, down to 3 WRs, and no running threat.

WTF?

We have turned into some kind of offensive beast, though. Granted, it's been this good against the Chargers and Lions, but i'm looking forward to seeing how we'll look against the Ravens and Vikings.

I don't care what the score is, but this performance by the defense is a friggin' embarassment. It's hard to know where to lay the blame at first sight, but I think it's the d-line. They're getting pushed around. Is the Lions' O-Line supposed to be good?

We are looking really slack on defense.

Of course, I'm still shocked that holding is optional not only vs. anyone wearing a Steeler helmet.

On that play, it looked like LeBeau was getting too cute. We had two defensive linemen on the play, both lined up outside the Offensive Tackles. No down lineman in between. Any team could run up the middle and bull it against that formation. The only play the Lions really have right now are draws and screens, and yet we're giving up big chunks on these plays.

So, after 5 games, we are an offensive-oriented team with a defense that can't do much well.

We're the 1984 Dolphins, or the 2004 Bengals, or something like that.

We are playing a Lions team which is on a 2-26 run. They are starting a washed up bum at QB, don't have their #1 WR, and have TWO other receivers who have gone down on top of it.

And they are slicing and dicing our defense. This is sickening. We're going to end up looking good because of a cupcake schedule, but, frankly, we absolutely suck.

I'm getting tired of these games that should be over after 2 quarters turn into nail biters, but it's nice to get a win.  Culpepper played admirably, and quite frankly it's too bad Stafford was dinged up.  If the kid starts, the Steelers probably win that game 35-6.

Another awful second half.  This time Arians and the offense were far too aggressive when they should have been feeding the ball to RM to eat up clock and wear the Lions out on defense.  Pretty much the exact opposite of the last few weeks, so I guess we can be happy they changed the philosophy but the execution just wasn't there.  O-line looked dominant in quarters 1 & 2 and couldn't have blocked me in quarters 3 and 4.  Again though, I don't understand the play call: going for the deep bomb when they should have just been dinking and dunking.  Ben had completed 13 passes in a row for crying out loud, what's with all the hail mary attempts?

Nice to see Harrison and Woodley starting to get some consistent pressure again, but with that Swiss cheese secondary it doesn't matter unless they can bring the QB down.  I was saying prior to this game that I prefer Troy to sit until the Vikes game and come back completely healthy, that we wouldn't need him for the Lions game.  Hard to imagine Culpepper has that kind of success with Troy back there today.  But we REALLY shouldn't need him against the Stains, should we?

I can't recall the last time the Steelers did a player trade during the season or at all.  Was the Bus the last one?  Well, I guess they traded a pick for Rossum.

We traded Mahan back to the Bucs during the 08 preseason for a late pick.  That's the last trade I recall.
