I think the 405 just adds a color monitor, and maybe street maps.  The real gusto is in the 605 or 705.  Those have a feature that if you are riding with someone that also has one, you can see where they are (where they are on the course) on your unit.  So neioghbor guy can tell where I crashed and went over the edge.  Mainly so the family knows where to put the cross.  Actually probably no cross, they'll just bring the dog out to piss on that spot.

If anyone would consider buying something of this type, it would be in your best interest to check the site I posted the link from.  The site I posted is 33% less than the banner site, for the Edge 305 any way.

Here is a link to the ride info for my 1st ride with gizmo.  On the left click on elevation and it will bring elevation and grade into the chart.  You can see it or zoom in on the grade to see that on the way to the top, the grade is between 10% and 20%.  Tough ride.  The benchmark for this ride is to "ride your age" to the top.  I did it in 52 minutes so I have to knock off 10 mins to ride my age.  Prolly not going to happen any time soon.  Riding it again this morning.  I'm going to see if I can knock off 5 mins.  Even that might be a bit lofty.
