But guess what, he still has one fewer ring than Ben, and I'm looking at his stats and he's the only QB to have beaten 31 other teams, and the only other guys to do that are Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Well, you chimps, Ben has beaten 30 and will likely tie you both this year (Raiders).
This one caught my eye as being absolutely amazing, considering the # of games Ben has played against the NFC - 22 by my count including two Super Bowls, which means he's had only one crack at most of them. So I checked it and may have found another team to beat:
2004 - swept NFC East
2005 - swept NFC North, Seattle in SB XL
2006 - Beat Carolina, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, lost to Atlanta in OT (10/22/06, 41-38)
2007 - Beat San Fran, Seattle, St. Louis, lost to Arizona
2008 - NFCE again (irrelevant), lost Philly/NY, beat Wash, Dallas, beat Arizona SB
18-4 against NFC is scary good, but he still needs to pick off Atlanta by my reckoning. Plus the aforementioned Raiders, which would be done by now if Ben hadn't had a skull full of Cheez Whiz at the time. Looks like it will be 2010 before he can complete the set.
Actually, even more impressive may be the fact that if you look at the first time he faced each team, Ben has a 14-2 record, avenging one loss in the biggest game. Maybe we can face Atlanta in the SB this year, save some time.
