So, going downhill on this trail, there is this knarly rock you have to go down right before a hair-pin left turn. The knarly rock is 5 or 6 vertical feed of descent so speed increases right when you need to be stopping. Let's just say that BV didn't only not make the turn, he didn't exactly get stopped in time either. Bike neighbor decided to take some footage, with his i phone, afterwards.
He shows the rock, my skid mark that disappears off the edge, and at about 19 seconds into the video, the log that stopped me and the bike. The log is close to 10 feet down the hill which is almost a straight drop off. The over the edge part looks like nothing on video. The view displayed on the video before you click to play it does it more justice.
When I realized I was going over, I bailed off the bike and slid a little ways down the hill. Fortunately, is was just soft dirt and no injury other than a coupla scrapes. Pretty scary when I knew I was going over, but funny afterwards.
