There are some solid fantasy minds on this board and I'd like to elicit some opinions on which way to go because I'm kinda in a bind this week.

This league is a pretty interesting one.  You don't just pick a single team, you pick a whole squad.  Top 3 managers get paid.  You can't use a player more than once.  Two lowest scores get an "X" for the week and once you get two "X's," you're eliminated.  Also, high score each week gets immunity for the following week.  No immunity once we get down to 3 managers.  There is no limit to the amount of times you win immunity.

Starting spots:

There are 6 of us left and 4 of us have one "X."  I'm in that group that has one and it was a dumb move on my part.  I was 20 minutes late getting my roster in one week and got 0 points.  If it wasn't for that, I'd be golden right now.  Regardless, I have no one to blame but myself.

Anyway, I generally like to look over the matchups for the next week or two and selectively pick a stud here and there depending on who they're playing during that span.  I try to shoot for a solid and consistent lineup.  The problem is that I'm stupid busy today and I completely forgot that there's a Thursday night game which means that my lineup has to be in by 8 PM tonight.  I'm gonna be hard pressed to get in any solid research time on who to start, so if people out there are willing to chime in and suggest a lineup, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Please don't just suggest starting a stud at every position.  I don't want to dig myself into a huge hole for the stretch run.

Defense and kicker seem like easy picks.

D--  The Steelers at KC.  New Orleans at TB.  Jacksonville hosting a directionless Buffalo?  Careful there though 'cause sometimes the coaching change leads to a bit of revitalization.

K-- Rackers.  What is wrong with you?  Arizona should hang 40 on St. Louis.

Other thoughts:

Is Portis back versus Dallas?  Even Betts might be a sleeper here, as well as McCoy at Chicago, though Reid's a roll of the dice.

Orton threw deep on the Washington D early and often last week, why not Romo?

Carolina's 25th in the league versus the run.  Sticky Williams?

Penso had some good ones and here are a few more to pick and choose.  I just looked at the players on the Yahoo fantasy list, sorted from most points to least and dipped down a bit so as to avoid too many stars.  From the looks of it, no worries there!

B Ben (PIT) @ KC
C Palmer (DOUCHE) @ OAK

B Marshall (DEN) @ SD
N Washington (TEN) @ HOU
D Mason (BAL) @ IND
J Maclin (PHI) @ CHI

M Forte (CHI) @ PHI
R Bush (NO) @ TB
B Jacobs (NYG) @ ATL

V Shiancoe (MIN) @ SEA
B Watson (NE) @ NYJ

Ended up going with the following:

QB   Matt Schaub
RB   Chris Johnson
RB   Ricky Williams
WR   Reggie Wayne
WR   Steve Breaston
WR   Santonio Holmes
TE   Vishante Shiancoe
K   David Akers
DEF   Cincinnati Bengals

I had Kevin Smith in as the second RB, but at the very last second, I swapped him out for Wicky (I had initially planned on saving Williams for the following week against the Bills, eh...)  If ever there was a week when I shoulda started Smith, it was this one against the Clowns, but I just couldn't bring myself to put my season in the hands of a Lion.  Also the reason why I couldn't start Calvin Johnson over Breaston or Holmes.

Everybody except one guy started Williams so watch the Dolphins/him play like shit and the Lions/Smith/CJ blow up for 30+ points.
