Hypothetical scenario (and one we're all completely hoping against) -

If the Steelers somehow manage to lose at least 2 of the next three games (highly unlikely, I know), would you want Polamalu to return or would you prefer he take as much time as possible - perhaps the remainder of the season - to heal properly and return refreshed next season?

Before anyone jumps to irrational conclusions about my faith in the Steelers, I'm just posting this after reading a PG story about Polamalu's abscence and how not only the Steelers' coaches, but also other coaches (M. Lewis) view the void created by him not being on the field.

They are shooting for a Oct. 11 return, so I don't see why he would have to sit out for the remainder of the regular season.  If they feel he's healthy enough to play against Detroit, then play him.  If not, don't play him and go from there.

I don't think the injury is a season-long thing.
Not like it's an ACL rupture, thank God.

I'm with Pgh-Steel.  If the docs & Troy are confident he's fully healed and healthy, play him.
If not, don't.

Regardless of the team's record, if he's healthy, he plays.

IMO.
