Jackson Thomas Brinker was born Wednesday October 21st at 8:53 AM
6 lbs 1 oz 19 1/2 inches

A little surprise...born about 2 weeks early.


He is doing well.  Mom and Dad are adjusting to being parents...and getting no sleep.

My best advice...keep your newborn up during the day...otherwise they stay up all night, like the last 2 nights.


I have some pics in his Steelers gear to post if I knew how... someone explain please.

Nevertheless he enjoyed the win on Sunday and slept on dad during the entire game.  Tough not to swear at the television during the game.

Sure, that sounds OK, but Coolidge Thomas Brinker or Salami Thomas Brinker would surely become legendary in the Brinker family.

If you can just get them to sleep all night, you're golden for the first 6-7 months. After that, your house will never be the same.

Well done. Took my 7 year old to the bar for the first time on Sunday, to watch the Steelers. Now that IL is smoke free, I figured it wouldn't be the worst thing.

You and the Mrs. best not be jumping out of your car on the freeway anymore. You've got promises to keep.

Congrats Brinker...and if I could give one suggestion that worked for us with the twins, it would be to get them on a schedule and stick to it. We generally had a nap in the morning, a nap in the after noon, and then to bed. They woke up once or twice for the first 6 weeks or so, but then it was golden.

You can get used to functioning while getting up at night, but the worst thing ever will be when they are sleeping all the way through, then for some unexplained reason wake up randomly one night. The next day is straight out of the circles of hell and you wonder how you did it for 6 weeks when they were born.

Congrats man...  As a new dad myself (Benjamin Bradshaw was born March 10th) I will tell you that the first couple of months are tough but it is worth it.  Then, it gets progressively easier but still tough  B)

Congrats to the Brinkers!  They say that the faster they gain weight, the sooner they sleep all night.  So feed that kid!!!

Of course, my boy was ten pounds when he was born, so we had no worries.  B)

BTW, I'll be ordering from Foothills Deli for our final tailgate on Nov. 21.

Congrats, man!  Like I need to tell you, but your life will never be the same.  Enjoy the "bundle of flesh" (as I like to call 'em) years because as soon as their mobile, that's when you're really screwed.   B)
