Looks like the Ray-vens knocked the shine offa Denver for the Steelers.
Didn't see the game though. The AFC matchup locally is OAK @ SD. Yippee.

Looking at the box score, the Ray-vens issued a beat down of sorts. Didn't let the Doncos run much or throw much. Meanwhile, Fucco went 20/25 for 175 and a TD. There were no INTs in the game but Denver lost one fumble.
I have to think the Steelers can do better than that.
Hopefully, they won't go in there overconfident.
Any word on who'll be playing FS? Will it be Townsend? Should it be Townsend? Is there much of a choice? Not sure if Carter is cut out for FS.

Saw some of it. Basically set up the way I thought it would. Denver's D is actually pretty decent, but you can run on them. I would feed Mendy the ball steadily, and just do what our offense does.
FS, don't think Clark is playing, in which case I think Deshea is better suited than Carter. Carter will get eaten alive by those speedy/shifty Denver receivers (Royal, Stokely). Mundy looks mundane. Townshend at least has the instincts. Might have to cheat 43 back into coverage more.

That's what I'm thinking, let the front 7 earn their money against the run.

Per PG, Lebeau says that Carter draws the start...

Unno bout that. Orton had zero time to throw the ball from all the pressure up front. I think the more pressure is in ortons face, the less chance he has to burn any of the DBs.

I'm all for bringing the pain. I just think 43 is less effective running into the fatasses of the OL and getting stuffed than he is ballhawking the short to deep passing routes. I mean, the guy basically covers the entire fucking field if he's not blitzing. I say, let him roam. We have guys who can blitz more effectively.
