I don't recall the black experience outrage. I just remember that Wendell was, charitably: slow, wheelchair-bound, fond of describing the attributes of said (motorized) wheelchair, and offended by the usual whiplash of board discussion. That said, some of the offense may have been race related; it's hard for me to care now.
Wendell can still be found residing at the
SCI site which Wexell runs, with an oversized avatar presumably of the latest motorized wheelchair to cart his semi-retarded ass around, and where he is treated with an admixture of respect and pity by the posters there, who find his constant optimism and onion-skin-thick level of critical thought a welcome part of the discussion dynamic. It remains a mystery why that was not the case here.
Wendell also claimed to be a private investigator, which, given the fact that he has the unlikely combination of cup-stacking smarts and monster-truck-sized wheelchair, leads one inevitably to the assumption that Wendell is not a rich or successful man.
