I'm kind of surprised by the defenseman. Good group, but I believe they could have done better especially when you consider the possible pairings from the same teams (Kings, Sharks, Flames, etc.).

Also surprised by Carter's omission, even though he plays for the douchebags. A homerisitic darkhorse for me would have been Jordan Staal for 3rd line and pking duties. He is a beast in those areas.

The best part of all of this is the assholes from Montreal who boo Sid everytime he touches the puck will be cheering him on when he wins them a gold medal.

As far as the forwards go, that's a tremendous collection of skill and talent.  The only critique I would offer is the addition of  Bergeron and Morrow.  I gotta think Carter, Lecavalier, Doan or even Mike Cammalleri would be better options.  Funny how, out of the 23 players, 16 play in the western conference and only 7 play in the eastern conference.  Maybe something to do with the fact that Detroit plays in the west.  On the D, how does Mike Green not make this team.  Maybe Yzerman saw him play "invisible man" against the Pens in the playoffs.  Phaneuf and Bouwmeester are somewhat surprising omissions as well.

Can't wait to see what the US squad looks like tomorrow.
