Guess it's purely based on numbers alone.

Schaub:
TDS 29, INT 15, YDS 4,770, RTG 98.6

Ben
TDS 26, INT 12, YDS 4,328, RTG 100.5

Which any fool can see that Ben's numbers clearly match up to Schaub's.  For some reason the national media is in love with MS and they hate BR.  Not sure if that has anything to do with the choice, but it still pisses me off! angry5

Whenever it comes to the Pro Bowl, I just say What the fuck.

I don't care.  I just don't care one way or another.  It really doesn't affect the Steelers, except for possible salary triggers.  Whatever.

Dog and pony show.  Might as well have fucking midget hookers out there playing.

Now THAT I'd tune in for!

Me Too...LMFAO!!!

I understand what your saying Finny, but it would be nice to see some of our players get the recognition they deserve.  Just like Tone should have gotten in instead of Ochostinko, but oh well.  I guess we will just have to live with team goals, such as those shiny Lombardi trophies, and forget individual awards.

For my 500th post, I will simply say that the Pro Bowl - especially when played in Florida and before the Super Bowl - jumped the shark a long time ago and has been rendered more meaningless than the fourth pre-season game.

Here's Fonzie - and Happy Days - jumping the shark.

That was believable until you realize that The Fonz would never have worn a ski belt, much less a yellow one.

Someone on another board said they asked Ben first, but he turned it down because of his shoulder. Don't know if that's true. Either way, it's irrelevant.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who said Ben turned it down.  I guess it's pretty serious.

It's the Fonz - need you ask?  helmet

Two side notes: 1) on the surface, that shark looks like an oceanic white tip (which oft prey on victims of plane crashes, as their sense of hearing is acute and food is scarce where they hang about), but the shots below seem to depict the dreaded - and dastardly - bull shark. Either way, good news for the Fonz that he made it (while stealing a play out of SDW's playbook and sneaking a peak at Joanie's cleave). 2) Don't clown on premature hair loss - it's all the rage and Opie was a man ahead of his time in that regard.

no clowning here, just wondering if it happened while filming some rescue scene from Backdraft and it never came back.

Man, the dramatic tension leading up to the jump is crazy.  That was some masterful cinema.  I need to see if I can get a recording of that Fonzie jumping the shark music.  That's a keeper for the iPod.

BTW, you do know that the shark was played by Ron's ubiquitous brother, Clint, right?

Like Finny said above, who gives a flying fuck?  Ben can't play because he's got broken toes, broken ribs, a couple of gammy feet, a ruptured eardrum and a cold to beat all get out.

God forbid it keeps him from scrambling for a yard or two next year.
