Can someone explain to me how in the name of fuck the Czech-Russia game is NBC, but the USA-Canoodle match is relegated to MSNBC? Is is solely so we can watch reruns of Bloatie Miller finish 12th or WTFever? Is there ice dancing today? NBC televises the olympics as if the internet doesn't exist. Guess what, if someone wins bronze in snow pissing at 12.43 pm, the whole fucking world knows about it by 12.44. WE DON'T NEED TO SEE RERUNS IN PRIME TIME, NBC.
Having said that, it's going to be tough for the US tonight, even if Babcock insists on playing Crosby on a line with former AHL all-star Mike Richards.

Russia downs the Checks with relative ease. Ovechkin takes his usual run and hit Jagr a little high, I thought.

Yes! Didn't think it would happen, but Ryan Miller and Y2J's boy Bobby Ryan lead the USA to a snappy 5-3 victory.
Notes:
Richards didn't last long on the top line. Crosby needs to play with men on the wing, not some dipsy-doodling face-off specialist.
Speaking of Richards, he got absolutely destroyed in his own end by Ryan, I think it was. They went toe to toe and Ryan blew him up.
Joe Thornton has officially replaced Eric Lindros as THEE single most overrated hockey player of the last 30 years. He's never there in big games, not for the Sharks, not for the Bruins, not for Canadia.
Brodeur still has to be the choice for Canadia IMO.
Edit: On rewatching the goals, Brodeur sucked. It has to be Luongo, and he should be on a quick hook too.
And, the tournament is yet young, but now I'm almost positive that this guarantees either Russia or Canada will be playing for bronze. Which already makes it a good result.

And the Canookies move on to lose to Russia tomorrow. My personal favorite moment from the game: when Pronger fell flat on his ass in the "centre" of the ice.

Damn, that was almost a goal. Still 0-0 heading to the 3rd.
