Hiller had to stand on his head to keep this one close. Goal disallowed for Kesler simply being stronger than the guy marking him.
Not exactly a consummate display, but the yooooo essss ayyyyyy is movin' on. Can't wait for Russia and Canadia tonight; this is like heaven for hockey fans.

Geez, you'd think a 4 goal lead would make for a stress-free 3rd period.
Not sure.
If those bastards can grab a quick one on the PP it will be game on.

Man, did that game stink or what? The Russians (except Sarge Gonchar and Stickin of General Gao Bryzgalov) to a man failed to show. Malkin coughed it up to Toews on Nash's goal, they'd've been better off putting Vladimir Nabokov between the pipes, Ovechkin did his normal elimination-game disappearing act, and too damn many KHLers to skate with the big boys. In hindsight was it really ever likely that Morozov is a gold-medal player, let alone captain? I think their Hockey Federation is run like their government, which is run
by
like the mob.
But, that's Russian hockey. Hit 'em in the mouth early and they're apt to skate around in circles after that.
Gotta say Canadia looks like the favorite now. I don't think the Swedes have the horses (provided they get by the Slovaks), though Lunkwist is always capable of putting up a doughnut. Unlike Pronger, who likes putting it up his doughnut.

5-0 USA, still in the 1st period. I thought this was going to be a competitive game.

This is really the biggest asskicking I have seen. They scored 5 goals in something like 6 minutes.
I thought it would be alot closer than this as well. At one point it was 12-0 USA in shots.

Rutuu with a typical punk move, falling onto Miller and not getting up (got a 2 and 10 for it) and Jokinen taking a shot at Kanes ankle with his stick during the stoppage. Weak shit going on already, probably going to get alot more chippy.

I think that box score updated right after I posted, but it was still something like 6 goals on 11 shots. That's a joke for beer league.
