Someone else posted this on another board. Great.

So that's the problem, somebody keeps spraying the ball with some sort of lubricated Sweed-repellent. It forces his head to turn away and on the off chance it hits his hands either slides through or clangs off.

Call me crazy but I am not ready to give up on this guy.  He has all the tools. His problem is in his head.  Call the head shrinker!

SDW, what about your prediction that Sweed would be our leading receiver in 2009?

You ready to pull the plug?

Crazy.

Unfortunately for Steeler fans, that head leads to those hands.

That's stone cold

Love the pic...I need an avatar  (the Sweed pic, that is.  I'm lactose-intolerant and would Zamir Cobb myself should I touch that stuff)

Yeah, because what the hell do we do if he comes in here next camp and tears it up like he did last year. I tell ya, last summer he was making leaping catches, he had sure hands, he looked like the best receiver in camp. Come a real game, and he's catching like my sister. So, let's say he looks like the best receiver in camp again, do you cut ARE or Battle based on THAT? How can you? It blows, and he may light it up somewhere else, but I say he's gotta get jettisoned.

I would also be extremely reluctant to cut Sweed because he has lacked confidence.  It is simply a question of getting reps in game situations.

But with Randle-El and Battle, how does Sweed see time on the field?  Heck, I'll be interested to see if both ARE and Battle get a hat on game day with the three WR in front of them.  I beleive the Steelers only dressed 4 WR last year on gamedays.

Couldn't disagree more.  No way can an NFL franchise afford to wait around for the light to go on.  Let someone else pay for his est sessions.
