It's the time of the year where it's ok to root for dirtbags like the Rangers, but it still feels dirty. Kept us tied but New Jersey still has a game in hand and of course the tiebreaker. Montreal is playing some good hockey and I'm pretty sure that the laws of karma won't allow us to lose 3 straight to the Wings, Capitals, and Flyers.

Not for me.  I need points outta Lunkwist to make a push for 2nd place in MGSFH.

Looking like we'll be without Geno again Saturday, and probably Gonch:

I don't know what the extent of the injury is, but unless it's a bloody stump he's going to have to man-up soon.

I agree. They looked a little iffy in the first but I think that's in part because Philly came out desperate and they were kind of weathering the whole storm. They dominated the 2nd and 3rd though and Fluery was one silly bounce from a shutout.

That was probably the best game Letang has had as a Penguin. He fucking screams potential but it seems like he can't put it all together. Today he put a ton of shots on net, played physical and smart in both zones, and put on a skating clinic in the defensive zone.

Boston wins and Philly loses. Good, let Washington and Philly beat the shit out of each other in the first round.

The little debbies drop a crucial point, and lose the game in hand and the tie breaker in one fell swoop.

Thanks Boston. I watched alot of the game before being completely bored out of my mind and switching to the St. Louis/Chicago game. Every time I watch the Devils play someone other than the Penguins they look completely average. How we lost 6 of 6 to this team...

Monster game tonight against the Tampa Bay Bugsy's, a team that not only played last night but has also stunk up the joint for the last 15 games or so. We need to come out and get 2 and start to put a stranglehold on this thing.

thats an easy question to answer.  going 0-21 on the PP against them fo sho.  That crappy perimeter passing with no player movement gearing towards an open shot from the blue line is a walk in the park for the devils.

Yeah the whole playing every PP like it's a 5 on 3 got pretty old by midseason. It's improved a bit with Poni out in front but I just wish he's play more physical for his size. Bugsy he ain't.

Also, no Gonch or Geno again tonight:

We're in a dead heat with the Debbies, and I think due to tie breakers have to be a point better than them to snag the #2 seed.  The run-outs are pretty even, we get the Isles twice while they get them once and Florida once.  A rousing regulation win over the Craps tomorrow would be a good start.

Motherfucking Caps.  Motherfucking Fleury.

You forgot motherfucking Goligoski. I haven't seen a defenseman abused like that since Mike Green in the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs. And of course cock-face Ovechkin has to get the empty netter with  .3 seconds left. Salt.In.The.Wound.

Looks like its going to be a 4/5 matchup with Ottawa.

Fantastic send-off for the Civic Arena.  And, we're right back in it for the #2 seed.  Gotta love that Buffalo-NJ game on sunday.

Provided we don't lay an egg at Atlanta, that is.

Welp the good news is they don't have to play a trapping team in the first round.  The Ranger Flyers game is going to be a bloodbath, winner gets the last spot in the east.

Don't know if anyone saw it but last night Minnesota named Mike Modano the #1 star and he came out in a Minnesota North Stars jersey. Pretty awesome way to honor one of the best American born players ever in what could be his last game.

I actually see the flyers taking that "exciting" team in 7.  setting up a buff/pitt matchup in the 2nd.  then a NHL dream matchup with the kid and the toofless wonder in the conf finals.

Yeah Philly beat them 5 out of 6 this season and I think the Devils are the only east team the Flyers would beat in a 7 game series. Going to be hard to root for them but I'm going to be.

Don't sleep on the Montreal/Washington matchup either.

Are you predicting a Montreal upset or am I interpeting this wrong?  I think the Caps just may be the first team in NHL history to win a series in 3 games.

Think Merman is possibly thinking the cap goalie sitch.  I dont see it petering out in the first round imo.  Heck wash should be the clear cut favorite based on the regular season, but im thinking goaltending becomes an obvious problem by the conf finals or SC finals.  and Sid the kid will be on the doorsteps to wack in a few ugly rebounds and soft goals.
