They are not trading Ben. They basically can't unless they find someone to take on the remainder of his contract, and that's a hard sell for a guy who is going to be suspended and has not shown himself to be the sharpest knife in the drawer with his off-field behavior.
The team will have to live with Ben and hopefully get him to find some humility and rebuild his rep among the team and the fans. A suit and a decent haircut were at least a start.
Brinker, I have to disagree with you on this one. Prosecutor basically said that they just could not prove what they think Ben did. If the chick was too drunk to resist, that does not make it better; in fact, it's worse. As I've said all along, I have serious doubts that Ben did anything illegal and am sure that it can't be proven he did anything illegal.
But wearing the black and gold--espcially as the QB--and earning hundreds of millions of dollars carries a certain degree of responsibility. To whom much is given, much is expected.

I would love to hear the exact accounts of the incident by the accuser...all of them. Not saying he is completely innocent, but did she do this for money?
I ran across this old story...found it interesting

Some Steeler fans need to be careful what they wish for...unless they'd like to fledge along in mediocrity for the next decade.

Yeah, I really wanna go back to the Neil O'Donnell/Kordell Stewart days, when we ran the ball down everybody's throats until the playoffs, and then shit the bed because our opponents sold out to stop the run and our QBs simply weren't good enough to make plays through the air when they had to. The people bitching the most about Roethlisberger now are going to be bitching the most about how the Steelers are "committed to mediocrity" later if they get their wish. They're nothing but bitches, regardless.

This just in: Kevin Colbert has bargained the Rams down to a third rounder in 2010 and a box of old Kurt Warner game jerseys.

Yeah, if he shits the bed yet again, you know they'll dump him Holmes style. Then we'll think two 1sts looks pretty good.
Or he'll win another belt and we'll be glad the piss tank isn't a Ram.
