Way to release a statement that was drafted by some lawyers and PR guys.

FFS dude, if you're gonna do something like that, get out there in front of the press, look contrite, answer a few questions and make it seem sincere.

That too much to ask?

WhoTF is advising this guy?

Mullets, Mutton, and Management: come in, get a new 'do, gnaw some lamb jerky, and get management consulting services all under one roof.  Conveniently located next to Eileen's House of Waxing and Lanny's Gree-Z Taco Shack.

Ben needs to get his ass on Oprah and talk about how sorry he is for embarassing his mom and sister. His team announces that he'll "make a statement" on Monday and he emails a paraphrase of his locker room line-read? Garbage. I realize that Ben's not the quickest wit in the world, but for chrissakes, get out there, answer some questions, challenge some assumptions, be sincere.

Unfortunately, that would probably damage his image even more having to improvise lies on the spot with microphones in his face.  Unless he just uses phrases like, "My guys are great. I'm surrounded by the best team.  I have to give my O-line all the credit."  etc...

If he came out to speak unscripted, bumbling and making up lies, it wouldn't come off too good.  BUT, if he did that and referred to himself in 3rd person . . HOMERUN.

Looks like you've been missing a lot of work lately.
I wouldn't say I've been *missing* it, Bob.
