Can one of you lawyer-type people explain to me what "third-degree rape" is? That was in one of the arcticles I read about this. I had no idea there were degrees of rape!
I'm guessing it's the same as statutory rape. If she was underage, then it's still rape even if all parties were willing.

OK Chris. Now that we have practiced kissing and cuddling, we'll practice eating out...at a fancy restaurant.

I like how LT's attorney was on ESPN radio boldly over-enunciating the phrase "there was NO... consensual... sex... I repeat, there was NO... consensual... sex."

Ummm, no shit, Sherlock?  Where the fuck do these attorneys get their degrees?

Yeah, I thought it was a poor choice of phrases.  Shouldn't you have simply said there was no sex at all?

Kluisi's right.  It's having sex with someone who is incapable of legally consenting.  So, since she's under the age of 17, even if she agreed to have sex with LT, he's still guilty of rape since she's under the age of consent.

There are degrees of everything in criminal law...

Thanks, Leigh & Kluisi. That's just one of those crimes that I never thought of having 'degrees'. Of course, after the Big Ben daubacle, I should have known better!
