Asked whether he's worried that Favre's refusal to commit can give other players an excuse to skip town until training camp, Childress called the 40-year-old quarterback's situation a "special circumstance."

"I don't think Adrian's batting around retirement in his mind, I don't believe," Childress said, adding: "Is everything equal? Obviously it's not. That's just the way it is. That's matter of fact. I think everybody understands that part of the equation."

Not many are equal to Peterson.  So let me get this straight.  Its cool to give a pass to a geriatric QB who has been there for what, one season.  However, when your young star RB takes a few days to go to his town for an event that honors him, well, thats no good.

Sounds like the shit met the hat.

When you hire a Diva to be your team's QB, you can't really turn around and whine because other stars miss workouts.

Who is more important to your offseason preparation:  a running back or your QB?  Is Adrian Peterson going to get fat and flabby because he went to a parade in his hometown?  And it sounds like his teammates are very concerned about his absence.

He ain't pullin' an Albert Haynesworth.

I always thought Childress was kind of a dingleberry.  This article confirms it.
