This would be a good time to jump in with that big contract extension his agent's been pissing about.

We have two more Colon-a-likes (Ramon Foster, Chris Scott).  I think either one of those guys can step in for a season and do the same stellar job Willie's done of getting false start penalties.

USA Today has a blurb.

According to J. Walker at the WWL, it may be season ending.

With all the tackles we've been taking in the early rounds in recent drafts, we should have no problem replacing him. Maybe the castoff from Buffalo will play well? Starks back on the right side and.................. ...............I dunno on the left? Hey, I got it, Arians can design a new offense in which the left tackle is actually a tight end, and he can run patterns behind the line of scrimage to confuse the opponent. It won't matter if he's an ineligible receiver, he can still dazzle them with moves....

Really, I'm coming up with nothing. We just lost the best lineman on a line that gave up 50 sacks a year the last 3 seasons.

Otis will supply that visual.

He would, but he's too busy buying up all the #74's he can put his hands on to make into a pool cover. And just when he thought he'd have the college fund made in re-tooled Ray Pinney's.

Hills would have to actually make the team for that to happen, right? Oh well, there goes that idea.

Just say "NO!" to Flozell Adams.  We don't need any Cowboys castoffs.  Plus, the guy is a penalty machine.

Again, how different are Ramon Foster or Chris Scott from Ye Colon?  All appear to be the same rhino body type, and Foster's got some starting experience.

OK, maybe not Chris Scott.  Sounds like the rookie may be heading to IR.

I would think Foster has the track, though they may try Essex there.  Tony Hills appears worthless at this point.

Despite Colon's proclivity for the sack allowed and false starts, the continuity factor will be an issue, especially since the center-right is the weaker side: Hartwig should just be replaced by Pouncey now, and no one has really nailed down the RG slot.  If Colon's starting at RG to get his feet wet, suddenly his "mentor" to the right is a question.

Best case:  C - Pouncey, RG - Urbik, RT - Foster.

Flozell is just another false start machine.  Some other FAs (Damion McIntosh, etc.), none too inspiring.  Really not interested in Flozell, sorry.

Crap. I was hoping he'd get a shot. IMO, Jon Scott would be a better option than Foster, unless Foster improves dramatically in the off season. Scott had decent feet from what I remember of his days at Texas, and Foster wasn't exactly a wall in pass blocking schemes. Also, sicne Scott played under our new o-line coach, he'd already have a grasp on the scemes the guy runs and could act as a coach in the huddle for the linemen.

Jon Scott, bounced from the powerhouse Lions and Bills lines, has impressively bad stats.

As a Lion, 6 sacks allowed in 6 starts, 5 false starts.
As a Bill, 10 sacks in 8, with 5 more false starts.

Maybe Coach Koogs sees some raw potential not manifesting itself on gameday.

Foster had 0.5 sacks allowed in 4 starts, inside, and 0 false starts.  Certainly a different challenge outside, but is Foster slower than Colon?  Really?  Hard to imagine.

Jon Scott did play some LT at UT, but definitely looks to be in the Foster/Colon footspeed tier.  Maybe next year.  Or this, if he heals fast.  Not sure of his prognosis as yet, but always a bad harbinger heading into camp hurt.

It appears that Ben's issues with concussions are likely to continue for some time.

Unless he takes the aforementioned route to a longer suspension...which, at this point, is not his worst option.

I thought Colon played significantly better last season and he will be a brutal loss on an already crap line.  But the fact that he was one of our better players last season speaks volumes to how Colbert and Co. have let the oline slip for the last 10 years.

Not to worry.  We're putting some LBs on a hi-cal diet for "positional flexibility" OL rotation.

Unless he ...

...realizes he can throw the ball away when he's outside of the tackle box.  Shocked
