Instead of trying to repair the novelty shop version, why don't you simply upgrade to the industrial model?

That is actually called a pencil vibrator.  Its a smaller CONCRETE vibrator.  It eliminates air pockets in cement.  Most commonly used when filling in a hollow block wall with concrete when wall is going to be below grade.
