MGS FF midseason report

This year's fantasy season imitiating real life - it's not about how many points you score. Top three in standings are also in top 3 for points against. The Mongrels shook off early losses to make a nice run, while the Sideline Zombies are making the most of their limited scoring to also post a 6-2 record. Keystones' 5-3 record is somewhat puzzling with a combination of #2 offense and #2 D, but they should feel good about things. Sportin' Woodleys stumbled in a very winnable game a couple weeks ago, but are in good shape at the moment.
Assaholics have done well to stay at .500 despite getting everyone's best game, giving up nearly 98 per. Odds should turn in their favor, as they did for the Chickens, who have rallied from a woeful start to get to the coveted "if the playoffs started today" position.
Chaos Unlimited is treading water just ahead of a host of teams at 3-5. Glass half full says you're tied for 7th, glass half empty - tied for last, including the aforementioned Gen Gao. Also in that group are the Whoremongers, but unfortunately they've been heading in the opposite direction lately. The Angry Reds, Pure Steel, Livers, and BenRapedMeToo all got there in different ways, but just need a run in the last few weeks to grab a playoff spot.
It's shaping up as always to be an exciting few weeks, with dramatic moves up and down the board weekly. It's a wait and see to find out who's in the top 8 when the music stops.

I've benched starters off bad stretches only to have them post totals that would have won (the winnable game, referenced above). I've passed on waiver guys too numerous to mention to wait for depth prospects to flourish (Donald Brown, e.g.). I've cut bait on players (Dwayne Bowe) impulsively, and made one dumbass trade (McFadden for Best, off McFadden having a toe injury and appearing to be losing ground to Bush: he didn't). But this past week, my 1:00 guys shat it, notably Rodgers in that 9-0 snoozer, and I still out-shuffled the zombies to retain some semblance of winning.
In short, I've been as stupid a manager as can be, yet still have some hope for the postseason. Somehow.

Puzzling indeed. The Cops only shat the bed once this year and, fortunately for them, Scac's sucktitude was greater on that day. Looking back, the three losses just happened to come against teams who outscored me that week. I did leave some points on the bench that coulda changed the outcome in week 1, but that woulda taken a genius. And that, sir, isn't me. Any given Sunday brother.

I fear that the Zombies may have shuffled to their last victory. The law of averages demands it! But I never studied law ...

Yinz all know the chickens are on the march after dispensing my "rival" ytooj last week.
I wasn't sure we'd recover after the week 2 heartbreaker to finny (asswipe Colts 3rd stringer fumbles, next play Nicks scores meaningless touchdown to turn a half-point victory into a 5 point loss on the last fucking play of the football weekend), or after the injuries to Stafford, Vick, and Romo, but damn if the PSD and Arian "Racialist" Foster don't have me poised for a run.

Yeah, I'm undefeated in games where I outscored the opponent that week
