John Clayton is the only commentator that I have heard make this point:
The NFL made a huge mistake by altering the system of fines in the middle of the season. By doing this without thinking it through or consulting anyone, they backed themselves into a corner. He said that if they were going to change it, they should have waited until the end of the season, allowing the players' union and everyone else to sit down and hash out all the details.
Goodell is going to push these guys to the edge of their sanity. What an absolute idiot.
