Merman -

I'm not suggesting you're a conspiracy theorist. In fact, I'd say anyone that doesn't think the refs/NFL executed a clear agenda against the Steelers last week (and all season, really - at least on an individual level) has their heads in the sand.

All I was saying is that I agree with others who think Ben flopped.

Yes and we know NO ONE has ever done that in the NFL before!

Yeah I know, just venting about inconsistencies. Ben's 6-6, 250, and shrugs off sacks like he's changing his socks but all of that shouldn't really matter. Bigger fines have been given for less, and if the play was reversed, James Harrison wouldn't be playing next week.

OMG. I didn't even imply that no one else has. I'm just saying it looked like he did in this instance and I won't hold it against any pundit or opposing teams' fans who say the same. Geez.

We can gripe, complain, write letters, send e-mails, leave VMs, etc. all we want, but as long as there are butts in seats and eyes on TVs, none of the complaints will resonate with that lefty Goodell.

no one (except for a street-clothed Colon) came to Roethlisberger's aid when he went down. Read into what you want, but I do actually agree with Miller when he says that is pretty telling about how Roethlisberger's teammates feel about him.

I wondered about that as well.  Could have been that they wanted to avoid further penalties?  Hmmmm.

Most likely. Miller contested that he would have preferred seeing six Steelers being ejected as a result of retaliation, and that a loss would have been acceptable as a result of subsequent ejections.

Penso - ding ding ding! Homeboy's a fascist. Starting to think that Onion story about Goodell redistributing the Steelers' SB wealth might become a reality.

I'll admit that I didn't really think about it from that perspective.

At the time, I just half jumped out of my seat and wondered how the fuck Seymour didn't get jacked up for doing that.  No punches...just a lineman or two grabbing him and driving his ass into the turf.  Some kinda message that you're not gonna pull that shit on our turf and walk away unscathed.

Maybe even one of these for good measure...

AJ, that's friggin' disgusting!  lol...one of the most disturbing scenes ever!

I didn't see the whole thing, just replays.  But it looked like they were all kind of shocked at the whole event.  Basically, "Wait...what?  Did that just happen?"  I actually thought Ben fell down not so much from the punch or acting but just in sheer disbelief.

IMO, the players getting hold of Seymour seemed sufficient, because they know damn well they'd have been suspended for the season.  Fighting is only 25k, but RETALIATING is lifetime ban...at least if the Steelers do it.
