Apparently the insurance company agrees that my dad is not ready for rehab, since they will not approve his transfer to physical threapy.

WTF?  I thought we had free healthcare under Obama.

Those fuckers! We're going through the same shit with my mom and are in the appeal process. Major stroke and only 45 days for recovery? Bullshit! Good luck, your Dad deserves better.

Keep calling back and harass them until they approve it.  3 or 4 phone calls should do it.

If that doesn't work, tell them you're going to file a complaint with the Department of Insurance with a copy of it going to the insurance company's CEO.

If that doesn't work, go for the drunk wallet "smash and grab."

He got the transfer, thanks all for the advice.  My brother's an M.D. so I guess he knew how to handle it.
