To go or not to go...that is the question

Ok here's the scenario. I have a chance to go to the Superbowl for about $1400.00 in the nosebleed section of course. I live here in big D, so travel and lodging expenses are next to nil. However can I really justify spending that kinda cash? Mrs. Brinker did after all buy me a HD projector, 92" screen and new surround sound package for the media room just last fall. It would be sweet to be there but how much do you miss by not watching it on TV? I know that it is my chance to see my Steelers in the Superbowl, how could i possibly pass that up? But I am trying to weigh all of the pros ans cons to going to the game. After all I would be flying solo, fighting traffic, limited adult beverage consumption ( I have to drive home). What is your take, really trying to get some good advice.
Conflicted..

$1400? Damn, jump on it! When the Super Bowl came to Jacksonville the year before XL, there was no way I was going to miss going to the game in my city if the Steelers made it...damn Patriots!

I hear ya.
Might have a shot a 2 tix (maybe), but no idea what section. Same hookup as Tampa, where we found out we were 21 rows up in the EZ. Not likely gonna luck out like that again.
Pain in the ass to try and find lodging, plus we'd probably have to drive.
But, it's the motherfucking SB.
But, I just went 2 years ago.
But, it's the motherfucking SB.
But, what if they lose?
But, you miss so much watching a game live.
But, it's the motherfucking SB.
Dunno
You can host a pretty sweet SB party for $1400.

There's this little thing called a "DVR." Not sure if you've heard of it. It's kinda new. Pretty handy. I think it'll stick.
It's the SB. In the grand scheme of things it's $1,400, which isn't chicken feed, but the memories last a lifetime. And (for those of us not named Otis), it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Plus, you're lucking out by it being "local."
Sack up and go...or sell the ticket to me for $1,500.

I second that. You can always rewatch the game on DVR but could never relive being there. I, unfortunately, don't have my hookup like last time and will miss the pleasure of sitting in the same section as Otis at the game, but exactly 15 rows closer to the action. damn.

wow, for half a mil you think you'd get free parking at least. I guess it's not an issue since you're having your own tailgating party at home. I say go for it.

We have a no record rule in the house. It always results in a Steelers loss.
