And I'm juror #111  which is almost a guarantee to be picked.  Seems like I was #1000+ last time and was out by 10am after all the suckers with a number down in the low triple digits got picked.

Maybe it'll be something interesting.

Just tell 'em you think shoplifting is a hangin' crime.

Oh wait, you're in Texas.  That's sure to get you picked.

I was called a few weeks ago too.  Federal level, not state.

Was #13 out of about 90 peeps and they were lookin' to fill jurys for two trials; one of which was a 16 man.  Pretty sure I avoided it by the skin on my teeth because pickins were slim.  Both trials were expected to last two weeks, min.

Unfortunately, the fed system gives them more than one shot at you.  As a potential juror, if you're not selected for jury, you're "on-call" for the next two months.  Once that window closes, you're good for two years.

Wear a cowboy hat, and underneath it have a foil hat on.  When asked a question, reply "Is that you askin' or is that them voices in my haid askin'?"  Be sure to mention you started a Charles Manson fan club.

Crap, never mind.  Pens is right.  This is Texas after all...

Last time I was picked it was also on a Thursday, but it was for the criminal courts and I think this one is a civil court.  In the case of the criminal court, Thur was "competency hearing day" so we were outta there before lunch.  That bitch was not competent.  Or was she?  Damn, I can't remember.  But I'm thinking there aren't too many competency hearings in civil court.  I'm also thinking I have no clue.  Just hoping to find the damn parking garage w/out too much trouble and with plenty of time to whiz before getting seated.

A cowboy hat over my foil hat?  HA! You, sir, have no fashion sense.

Got weeded out in voir dire.  Plaintiff was some lady and the defendant was some chiropractor, that's all I knows about that.
