Good god, that was hard to watch.
It was. They better figure something out before Houston. Those boys looked alright today against Nawlins, damn sure looked better than than the Colts. Realistically, the Steelers should be 7 pt underdogs next week.

That was the worst O line performance I have ever seen; at least the worst in a win.
Finally got a turnover.
Defense was good except for that one drive late. Turnovers put them in bad spots.
next week will be rough.

Ben had a nice line, 25-37 for 364, 1-1, 97.1 rating. Wouldn't have thunk it having just watched that.
He converted some tough as hell 3rd downs, too. That's a pretty great stat line considering zilch in the running game and generally terrible protection.

I am going to come out and say it:
The WR screen to the twins side has never worked in the history of fucking football. Lump in with it, that slow developing, draw-like counter play we run at least 4 times per game.
Also, riddle me this:
How does a team with our injury prone offensive line justify suiting up only 7 bodies for 5 spots?

You need extra WRs to run those screens!

Mendy seems like a top tier back, but can't do squat with the ball. Obviously, the o-line is no help, but MEMO and Redman can average 3 to 4 ypc. I'm not sayin sit Mendy, but like someone mentioned, mix it up ffs when it's not workin.
Arians continues to be a genius. Run up the middle for no gain on EVERY 1st down. Did he really spend time during the week coming up with that wrinkle? Geezus.

I wouldn't say I've been *missing* it, Bob.

So, was that Brown that didn't touch the guy down after that last INT? WTFF? Bitch, your as is so far down on the end of the bench I might forget your fucking name. Not only did he not touch the guy down, he fucking made an effort to avoid it! FUCK.
I thought it was Sanders, who also dropped the third down pass on the FG drive that would have made it first-and-goal.
Yup, it was Sanders.
Quote
A big third-down drop by Emmanuel Sanders on the first series forced the offense to settle for a field goal. And he made another bad mistake when he failed to touch down safety Joe Lefeged after an interception.

Right now, I think we're in the bottom 3rd of the NFL. We still may make the playoffs if things break our way, because our schedule is full of cupcakes. Unfortunately, we also look like a near-cupcake team, so I think we're going to finish 9-7, give or take a game, and we'll see how things shake out.
I think it's time to get young players more playing time.
> Keep Mendy as the starter, but make it a 70/30 split with Redman
> Get Hood and Heyward on the field a lot more
> Get Worldis out there
> Rest Hampton a lot more
> Gay and Lewis over McFadden
> Maybe even get Sylvester some starting reps and see what he can do
> Brown should replace Ward as the starter on a few series per game
I'm not saying throw the towel in on the season, but let's let our young guys spell the ancients and get some experience to boot.
My revised expectations for the season:
at Houston : Lose by 13 (2-2)
Tennessee: Win a squeaker (3-2)
Jacksonville: Win by 10 (4-2)
at Arizona: Lose by 10 (4-3)
New England: Lose by 27 (4-4)
Baltimore: Win by 3 (5-4) - don't ask me how, I'm guessing emotion carries us in this one
at Cincy: Lose by 6 (5-5) - we're gonna lose one we shouldn't. Letdown loss after Balty game.
at KC: Win by 3 (6-5)
Cincy: Win by 9 (7-5)
Cleve: Win by 1 (8-5)
at SF: Lose by 7 (8-6)
St Lou: Win by 3 (9-6)
at Cleve: Lose by 10 (9-7)

Good news, bad news. Steelers Depot reports Max Starks is in excellent shape again. And he's about to sign with the Minnesota Vikings.
