Ward wants to hit 1,000 in catches

Love this guy. What do you think, can Hines hit the magic 1000 this season? I'd about kill to be at the game when he does!

Let's see, if he gets 1000 and Wallace gets 2000 that doesn't leave much for Heat and the rest of the boys unless Ben really is gonna call his own plays. In which case one wonders if Mendenhall will see 200 carries?

But it's not unreasonable, just looked at his stats and he exceeded 1000 two of the last three years, 755 last season. Dropping his rookie season, for a career he's averaged

80 catches
955 yards
12.2 ypc

Almost 2/3 of his catches are for a first down. Pretty stout.

So, we shouldn't be surprised if Ward hits 1000. Unless he's done, but who's gonna doubt him?

Arians also noticed something different about Ward in this training camp.

"He looks spryer than he did last year. I think getting the knee cleaned out [is the reason]. It swelled on him a lot last year. I think that has helped, losing a little weight through the dancing and I'm sure that dancing stuff tightened up his core. He looks good."

With two-a-days gone, maybe we'll see an intense, two week, DWTS regimen added to OTAs next year.

If he stays healthy this year, he'll get it. 46 catches is 3 a game. Out of respect I'd think that even if he's not getting many looks most of the game they'll get him a couple dumpoffs to keep him on pace.

Barring a major injury, he should get it comfortably. He's good for a couple screens a game, and some slot work.
