Douche Florio
is reporting 5/$50.
Of course, it's a 6-year if you count current + 5.
Either way, another solid extension. Keeping the core intact.

I think this is a huge signing. I know this will limit us in signing Troy, but if you ask me I would have signed Timmons over Troy. I think Troy will do the right thing and give us the hometown discount when we negotiate with him after the season. He is 30 and coming off a few seasons with lingering injuries. No doubt if he is healthy he is one of the best in the league. Timmons is a beast, I love this signing.

Fantastic. I can't speak highly enough of what Tomlin, LeBeau, Colbert and Khan have done for the core of the D for the forseeable future.
Now, if one of the young corners would just step up...

TBH, I don't know if that's true. Juan's deal will hit 2011 as more $, but they could re-jigger Troy's numbers for the final hit of the old deal and basically even out.

Truth. I think there's potential, but the curve-to-implement worries.

Think the FO is thinking we will franchise Troy in the offseason?

Could be.
2011 cap hits:
Troy - ~$8.6M
Timmons (pre-deal) - ~$2.8M
Timmons (new deal) - ~$4.7M
So, if they can subsume Troy's 2011 hit into a deal spread over, say, 4 years (?), it would need to be about $6.7M rather than $8.6M. Not sure how they would structure, but entirely feasible.

He should revive the old Bartles and James franchise.
