There's alot of us in her path, from virginia to new york.  Personally I can't help but think this is all being overblown, at least here in NYC, the evacuations and the shutdown of the subway tomorrow at noon (the storm isn't due until midnight).  But then, don't get me started on the criminal mismanagement of the MTA.

Hopefully I'm right.  You never know.  This year alone in Brooklyn we've had a tornado touch down, an earthquake, and now maybe a hurricane.

I dunno.  I'd say it was bad enuff.

As of yesterday, about half the state still doesn't have power.  We don't have power or water and they don't expect it to be back until the weekend at earliest.  Schools were supposed to open today, but because of the widespread damage and road closures, the start of school has been pushed back to after Labor Day.

Sorry to hear that, aj.  Guess it picked up north of the city.

I couldn't help but think that, in the city at least, the whole thing had the feel of an exercise in population control via media manipulation.  In other words, a system test to see if they could get everyone to stay indoors for 2 days.  Just my paranoid, conspiratorial brain working too hard, no doubt.

I hear they'll be serving Soylent Green next time!  But before that they'll be holding a big lottery with lots of winners, so be sure to get in on that.
