This doesn't surprise me. It was desperation to try and utilize Hills as guard. He's a high-round draft bust at this point.
I don't know if I'd call a R4 pick a "high-round" pick.

But he was our first OL guy taken that year if memory serves, thereby the hopes were highest for him to help the line from that draft class. If my memory doesn't serve, then, frankly, I don't have a leg to stand on.
Well, until Pouncey and Gilbert, we hadn't bothered to use high-round picks on OL for the better part of a decade, so it is all relative.
