BTW the commish is thinking of changing the goalie's GAA to Goals Against.  GAA is usually a team stat, thoughts?

I'm cool with the goalie thing.  GA or GAA is fine, whatever the commish chooses.

I don't have a dog in the goalie stat poll (since I'm not in the league), but maybe you can educate me a little. Isn't GAA just an average of GA based on games played? How is one an individual stat and the other a team stat?

Actually I'm not sure, now that I think about it.  I guess both are kinda team stats.  I'll just keep it the way it is, easier to follow. I added saves last year, that should be a decent enough indicator of a goalie's individual contribution.

Now, Kluisi, go and get yourself a dog in the fight.

I agree...they both seem more like team stats to me since a large part of Goals against is based on the defense as a whole rather than just the goalie. If the Defense isn't doing it's assignments, it makes it very hard for a goalie to keep the puck out of the net.

I tried fantasy hockey one year...it's like baseball...takes too much time since each team plays multiple times per week. I like the once a week, head-to-head setup of football only. Plus being outside of Pittsburgh, I don't get to watch enough Penguin games to even keep track of them all the time let alone the rest of the league.

It's a pretty low intensity league, I don't think any of us (except captain chaos) are exactly experts in who san jose's second defense pairing is or who is on the penalty kill in chicago.  We autodraft and I for one don't really even bother to edit yahoo's prerank very much.  C'mon, be a mensch.

Somebody signed up and then un-signed up (lame!) so only three in the league.  If we don't get six by this time next week, I'm deleting the league.
