I was underwhelmed by the announcement yesterday.  I've been holding on to my old 3GS in anticipation of iPhone 5 which presumably would be a vast improvement to the 4, not some incremental bump like the 4S which is basically what the 4 should have been in the first place.

Bastards.

Guess I'll just wait a little longer now and see if any new Androids are coming out.  I hear the next Google Nexus is due for announcement next week, but I'm not sure if that will be an ATT phone.

I've considered getting the Samsung Galaxy 2S but sure as I do the next gen Android will hit the market.

Any suggestions out there?  Any iPhone users who've switched to Android?

FWIW, the wife has an iPhone4 (I think) and I've got the original Droid.  I like my phone miles better than the iPhone.  I think the OS is much better as it's less...cartoony (probably a horrible way to put it).

In the end, it's probably just a matter of personal preference.  You want an Accord or a Camry?

They're both good phones.

I think the biggest difference (other than the personal preference that AJ mentioned) is that if you like to tweak and tinker, the Android will probably be better for you. Yes you can jailbreak an iPhone, but you are still much more limited than an Android with root. FWIW, I have a Droid X (without root - though I've thought about it) on Verizon and I love it, but I can't wait to get a new 4gLTE one when this contract is up.

Steve Jobs dies and all you people can think about is your phones.

There is no beer in heaven, but I think Jobs still can claim royalties on the sale of apple products.

With the Nexus Prime announcement due next week I'm gonna hold out and see what's what there.  So far it's the leader.  iPhone has been great but let's see what all this Android talk is about.  And who wouldn't like an ice cream sandwich?
