Only follow NHL loosely at this point, but...  Crosby misses half a year, shows signs of slow progress, and it's apparent he may not start on time.  Should we backload the schedule a little so the face of the NHL has the most possible games?  No, let's schedule them eight games in the first 13 days of the season!  Meanwhile, Rangers are playing game #4 tonight.

If you're relatively new to following hockey, you will soon learn that "the league" and "morons" is redundant.  They're still at least 5 years behind the rest of pro sports, though they might catch the NBA in the foreseeable future.

Agreed.  Wonder if NBA realizes that no one noticed their season hasn't started yet.

If NHL can't capitalize this year, they'll never be more than a second tier professional league.  Then again, considering they're behind NASCAR right now, maybe they'll always be that way in US.  They were behind golf, but no Tiger=no PGA.
