The top of the 9th was so fucking unbelievable, so clutch. From the barely successful steal (I was cussing. "Wasted out!" I thought.) by Kinsler to the heady base running by Elvis ("Another one? Why yes, thank you.") and the La Russa-crushing sacrifice by Hamilton. And don't forget Mr. Ranger, Michael Young. What a finish!
And that was a MUST win.

And do not understate the two double plays turned by Andrus and Kins, one more beautiful than the last. Wow.
Instant classic.

That game 4 pitching performance was magnificent. I wonder if anyone was cheesy enough to go with the headline, "Mr. Holland's Opus"?

Not to be confused with Mr. Holland's Anus, starring Richard Dryfist.

Hard to be optimistic now. St. Louis just grabbed the mo after Texas wasted opportunity after opportunity. Unbelievable. In both the 9th and 10th they were 1 out - hell, 1 strike away...

If your boy doesn't puss at the wall, it's over in the 9th.
The good news is that it's baseball. And no one really gives a fuck.

I didn't watch the end. Watched a few innings of Error Fest and the was keeping an eye on the ticker. It was 6-4 when I went to bed.

The Rangers had a two-run lead going to the bottom of the 9th. Had their closer on the mound and two outs. Two strikes. BAM! Tie game.
Top of the 10th, Andrus gets on base (one of the very few times in the series). The injured Hamilton comes up and hits a two-run homer! It's a miracle! Hurray!
Bottom of the 10th and Wash inexplicably sends out Darren Fucking Oliver. Two outs, two strikes ... and two runs and a tie game later he sends out Scooter Feldman who ends the inning.
Suffice it to say, Wash bungled the game in so many ways (even after they overcame their errors - STL made several so the errors were a wash IMO) that his final bungle did 'em in when Mark I'm-a-pitching-machine-HR-yielding-fool Lowe came in and gave up the game-winning HR.
First tweet after I learned Lowe was coming into the game.
And the one right after he started off with a 2-0 count.
And on the next pitch ...

First blown save of the playoffs by Feliz. So, it's Game 7 and the Rangers haven't lost back-2-back in ~45 games. Hopefully the guys are feeling better than I am right now. They're pros. I hope to mentally be back into it by game time. I don't need another crushing championship loss, especially not like this. This would be worse than 1986 Bill Buckner (not that I gave a shit about that) as the Rangers blew more chances.
Frankly, I'm still pissed at the Steelers.

So that's why he hadn't hit one before? B/c Jebus hadn't told him he would?
