We got more tree damage than from any winter storm, hurricane or tornado in the past 10+ years.
Quarter million w/o power in the central and eastern PA region.
Just a fucking mess.

Feels like we're just a few weeks removed from getting over Irene and now this?
Over a foot of snow and they're saying power isn't expected to be back on for 7 to 10 days!
Two of our neighbors have backup generator power keeping their homes humming along. Wish we had the extra cash to splurge on that luxury.

We wound up with about 4-5" of very wet, dense, heavy snow. Unbelievable damage to the trees. The power company has gotten the juice back for almost all the locals, kudos to them.
Friends of ours live just off the Appalachian Trail, up a "mountain" (or what passes for one around here), and they got 9" of snow. They're maybe 15 miles away, so that's a good bit of variation in the precip.
7-10 days without power? Fucked.

That is crazy, no power for a week or more?
Mrs. BV was in DC last week and folks were dumping on life in Denver, getting snow is October etc etc. Doooh.
AJ - Ironically, I have a 3000 watt Honda generator for sale. I can give you a low low MGS price plus shipping
Approx 150 lbs. Shipping might be steep.

Was supposed to be back on by Sunday AM. Just issued a revised update that is pushing it back to Wednesday (!) now.
