Gone too long

Hi guys & gals.
I apologize for being completely absent from this most wonderful board for so long. I think because I'm friends with so many of you on Facebook, or follow you on Twitter, that I've forgotten how much support and love I've gotten from the rest of you.

And now I come crawling back to you because I need that support again.

At the end of August, I applied for the job of my dreams. The job of my lifetime. The job that would turn me around and be the passion I need in my life.

Got through round 1. Had to complete an additional application.
Got through round 2. Phone interview. Nailed it.
Got through round 3. In person interview. Nailed it.

2 days after the in person interview, got a call asking if they could contact my current employer. I said yes, then went & told my boss, my Executive Director, our CEO and our President to let them know the situation.  I feel this put me in a precarious position, as my company is not known for employee loyalty.

That was November 4. Today I got an email that said I wasn't the one.

I am crushed. I don't know where to go now.  This was supposed to be what I was supposed to do for the rest of my life.
Dammit.

Thanks for letting me vent. You guys (& gals) have always been wonderfully supportive. I'm sorry that I've been so absent.

I'll try to do better.

Sorry to hear about that, hang in there lc.  Hope the current company doesn't pull any bs - I was afraid that was where you were going.

And on the bright side, maybe the person they chose will brinker out on the toilet.  Remember, you're the starter-in-waiting!
