Ward's last home game as a Steeler on Saturday?

Sure hope not.
Even the wife has noticed his absence in the offense.
Don't think he's done, but with two years left on his deal at about 4 and a half milly each season, you gotta wonder if the Steelers feel the same. If the numbers and my math is right, they would net about 8 million in savings if he's cut after the 2011 season.
Don't think I could stomach seeing him in another uniform.

Seriously, HInes must be given every opportunity to retire as a Steeler. However, Hines also has to see that $4 mill per year for a #4-5 WR isn't cap smart. Especially since Wallace is a RFA next year. That's gonna be expensive.
Don't even want to consider him in another uni.

It would suck, and he would of course have a moment or two for arizona or seattle or wherever landed.
But nobody thinks of Franco as anything but a Steeler; ditto Woodson, ditto Lake. Not to mention Mike Merriweather, Chad Brown, and Kendrell Bell. Just sayin'.

HOpe they can renegotiate before he even has to suffer indignity of being released.
I'd prob overpay a little for respect and past performance. With rookies making less, there's prob a little more out there for vets on the down side. Maybe 1, tops 1.5 mill/year.

seemed like Batch was giving him a little more attention yesterday....maybe because he's an old vet as well and wants him to hit that 1,000 mark??
Ward would've gotten that TD slant that Wallace didn't pull in I think. DB made a good play but I feel Wallace doesn't have that toughness Ward has.

Hines said when he signed his last contract that he was happy knowing he'd retire a Steeler. NO WAY does he go elsewhere, he's another Franco Harris in the making as an ambassador for Pittsburgh and Steelers football.

I think I remember Hines saying he'd retire if they won another Super Bowl a couple years ago. Hopefully he will go out on top this year.
