And so I decided to read the dreck on espn.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2011/story/_/id/7525476/tom-brady-12-things-not-known-new-england-star-quarterback

Some highlights, in case you don't feel like reading the whole thing.

Quote from: fluff
Tom Brady is a man's man. This is not really in question.

Um, yeah.  The jury's still out on that one. Let's review the evidence.

Quote from: fluff
"He always kind of calls guys 'Babe,'" the teammate says.

*crickets*

Quote from: fluff
He gave each of his teammates, starters and scrubs, a pair of Ugg slippers (Brady endorses the product).

Yes, the Uggs.  We all know what Uggs on a man signifies.  But I would call attention to the fact that he gives out slippers as a present.  Slippers that he gets comped for shilling the product.  Is the point here to get us to like the guy less?

Quote from: fluff
HE DOESN'T LIKE TO SHARE

Apparently, he doesn't like to share.

Quote from: fluff
HIS WIFE FITS IN

His wife fits in... time alone with the pool boy?  Three dudes at once?  Too easy.

Quote from: fluff
Brady keeps coconut water in his locker

Fascinating.  The hallmark of a true man's man.

Quote from: fluff
Hoyer went out to dinner with Brady on Monday night at St. Elmo steakhouse, and they were mobbed on the way out. It wasn't just the women who were screaming for Brady, Hoyer says. The guys were, too.

Guys... in Uggs.

"'If I hit it real big,'" Shea recalls Brady telling him, "'I want to be able to wake up, put a pair of socks on, and at the end of the day, I throw 'em away.'

"I'm like, 'That's all you want?' And he goes, 'Yeah, that's what I want. I love new socks.'"

Tom, you've hit the big time!

And think of all those poor Haitians with only-once-worn socks, he's a mf-ing humanitarian to  boot.

Only a real man could get through such a terrible day.

How do parents even go on after a day life that? The only thing that might be comparable is having both your kids coaching in the Thanksgiving Day prime time game. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
