I saw the One Man LOTR yesterday and highly recommend the show to fans of the books and movies.  Can't give enough kudos.  Charlie Ross is a terrific showman.  The show is fast-paced as the entire trilogy is condensed to 70 minutes!  There are no props and no effects other than a spotlight that changes colors and Ross' vocal sound effects.

He recited key lines verbatim throughout the show and took brief water breaks between the titles. He polled the audience on who had seen all the movies, the extended versions, read the books, watched all extended versions in one day, never read or saw a single one - there were a few people, the poor bastards.  Pop-culture references and asides were sprinkled throughout.

Very fun and worth the $15 ticket, particularly in a small theater with only 150 or so folks.  He tours regularly so if he comes to your town, don't hesitate to attend.

Oh, he also does a One Man Star Wars!
