Interesting: he notes that Chapman is about the same size as Casey Hampton was when drafted and has him listed as #32 on the Steelers board.
Finny, you have him as your #3 rated NT prospect for the team, thought him best a 3rd round value. He IS significantly smaller than either Poe or Ta'amu.
Is it possible we see him as a 2nd round target, or too high there?
Actually, I have Chapman rated my second best NT:
R1 – Dontari Poe, Memphis
R3 – Josh Chapman, Alabama
R5-7 – Hebron Fangupo, BYU
R7 – Damon Harrison, William Penn (Iowa)
FA – Jean-Baptiste Nicholas
I really like Chapman. I'd rate him a R2 talent, but he's down to R3 because he's on the mend and I think we're going to be down to the wire for a starter. Course, the FO might think McClendon can fill in for a few games, Casey can take over, and let a rookie like Chapman start later in the season or even wait until 2013. I would absolutely be OK with Chapman in R2. On film, he's a better player than Poe. Poe just has freakish physical skills and upside. But Chapman would probably be a safer pick.
