I've watched about all the tournament so far, was thrilled to see boring boring England go out.  Was even more pleased to see Ashley Cole be the goat.

Dear England,

Stuart Pearce.  Gareth Southgate.  Ashley Cole.  The moral of the story: don't have defenders take penalties.

PS: my main man, and fave athlete besides Crosby, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best baller in the world. Messi just get hyped because he's a pretty face. One guy has scored the goals and captained his side to the final 4, the other dude rode Spain's midfield to second place in La Liga.

Get ready to get beat Spain. You fuckers better thereupon recognize. That boy Ronaldoooo

Er, and Ronaldo isn't?

Couldn't disagree more about the comparison to Messi.  Ronaldo is right now great, but Messi is all-time, world eleven great.  George Best, Maradonna, Pele great.

That was sort of my joke. Messi is a killer but I hate him. Ronaldo sold away from United and we haven't won shit. I just love the dude's game and passion. He's really improved as a leader and overall talent rather than just a killer of wide defenders and supermodel pussy.

Cannot argue with George Best's record or the George Best record. I bet he drank more than me.

Maradonna is too old to be doing dancer-assisted flips at the Super Bowl and just needs to quit.

Pepe is a decent center back. Doesn't get forward much, he doesnt play nearly as cool looking as him pointing in the AJ posted pic, but you've really overrated him as an all-time great 11 member......oh, you said Pele. He was aight.

George Best's best goal was one that was disallowed; the england gk (shilton? or was he later?) went to punt the ball.  After he dropped the ball to kick it, In between his hand and his foot Best snuck in, headed it out and put it away.  I have never been able to figure out how that was a foul.  It's prolly on youtube somewhere.

George Best is also a killer album.  Went to see the wedding present oldman-jonzr style in a reunion gig a few years back; lead dude (david something, decided to hate him personally after that show) rushed through two or three of the hits and insisted on playing his horrible coldplay sounding new shit for two hours.

Down goes Portugal, and with them y2j and sfinco's boy Ronaldo.  Someone please tell me-- how is it that ronaldo stands around with his peepee in his hands and watches Portugal go out without him even taking a penalty?  Either the coach needs to be fired, or Portugal needs a new captain.

Spain v. Italy will be a yawner IMO.  Then again, I had Germany reaching the final, so there's that.

Was laughing at ESPN's hairpieced mouthpiece Bob Ley piece making Balotelli out to be part-Messi/part-Jackie Robinson. "the man who has dominated the Euro's and left everyone talking".

Um he barely made the team. And not because he's black (there are other African born players on this same team). But because he is a selfish, basketcase who is a ticking time bomb for a red card. He cannot be trusted and has been a terrible teammate (he pouts, burned his house down, and has literally thrown darts at his teammates). Italy had a black guy feature over ten years ago. To unearth the reason they haven't featured more often, simply take a look at their percentage of the population of Italy. It's not like they're being freaking repressed.

Yes he's certainly left people talking. Most of the banter centering around "who the hell is the black kid with the Mohawk taking his shirt off and flexing?". If that is racist I don't know what isn't anymore. If some Asian dude sprinted for Ireland and won the 100 over the Jamaicans in London and people noticed it was unusual is that racist?! Where's the oppression?

Oh well Buffon, before today, has been better than him. De Rossi is better. Pirlo has been amazing.

Spain are some fucking killers. Moot.

Whoa, whoa... I was prepared to let the Ashley Cole bashing slide ( seriously, it's been years since he left North London for SW6 Penso)... But this I cannot ignore. CR7 is a great player but a total douche. Just look at him.

Pretty decent tourney. La Fura Roja is very, very good. But enough with the Fabregas "false 9" bullshit. England imploded once again. Thoroughly outplayed by the Azzurri. The Germans stumbled again as well.

L'Oranje not getting out of the group stages was a shock. But in the end, the best team won. Trivia: the only team in the world to beat both Euro finalists since '09....wait for it...... the US.

On a purely selfish side note..just received my '13 home Chelsea CL jersey (Drogba of course) with a Championship star... KTBFFH!!

Well, Judas Iscariot died around about 2000 years ago.

In truth, one of the personal disappointments of the tournament was that he played well.  Right... up... until the penalties.  Good enough for me, as long as he ends up with that dumb assed look on his face.  And you can tell the wife that his official nickname at bars across brooklyn is now "prissy pants".

Quote
But enough with the Fabregas "false 9" bullshit.

Honestly.  Because Spain really struggled with formation, what with all that playing a basically formation-less game, and still not conceding for what seemed like forever.  Still, for me (and I am totally not half croatian) Croatia were the unlucky side of the tournament.

England imploded once again.

I'm not sure it even qualifies as an implosion.  I think it's closer to the truth to say they're not very good, and, in point of fact, haven't been since about 1990.  Johnson and Milner are complete stiffs for England, and that's just the beginning.

Quote
The Germans stumbled again as well.

The Germans played one awful game against the eye-ties.  Passes behind, boots of concrete. Even Ozil's passes were miles off.

Quote

I disagree.  How can people be shocked by this? Did you forget the world cup final?  That team already hated itself in a tournament they were as good as winning. They all loathe each other, and more to the point, the defense is really bad.  I mean, horrible.  No one runs for anyone.  You can practically see it on their faces on tv.  They get the ball, they play it up field.  Sneijder will pick it up, run himself into some deadspace on the pitch, then knock a vague ball at an impossible angle for Van Persie to pick up.  He will, and then he will run himself into an impossible position and then knock the ball into deadspace vaguely in Robben's direction.  He will miraculously find it, dribble towards the right corner, then suddenly cut back to the middle and put it only a tantalizing 8 feet above the bar.

On the ensuing goal kick, de Jong will foul, and then bizarro football can be avoided for as long as the ball is kept away from the Dutch.

Barcelona's midfield dominates the final. Messi watched on TV.

Ronaldo just faced that team and it went to PKs. Total stalemate?  They lost in PKs. He didn't kick one. He was scheduled fifth. As usual. He didn't bitch out and "didn't even take a kick!!!!".

"he is a total douche. Just look at him".
What compelling evidence.

"prissy pants"
I am certain that breaks his heart. Ask some people who are responsible for marking him who is the best baller going. Not college boys and drunkards at the bar. In fact, Cristiano's only concerned with the section of Brooklyn he (targets) next time Andy Roddick's wife visits Spain.

Speaking of Spain. Who won La Liga anyway?

Had to be Xavi, Iniesta, Alves, Puyol, Sanchez, thee alleged best player in the world Messi, Pique, Alba, Fabregas and whomever else on the same team, no?!??

Croatia shouldve advanced. Shame that Brasilero ankle got broke and he never emerged as their "non-fiction" 9. Suker was one of my 50 face athletes ever though.

Uuuhh you guys know who the English captain was right?!? Let's give Ronaldo shit for not one-manning (no stacked cups) Portugal to the champ belts but excuse John Terry for his dispicable behaviour? Seems dumb.

I bet if Portugal could change one thing it'd be not kidnapping Cristiano Ronaldo before he could deliver his two goal master piece KOing them....and start from there.

I certainly hope he watched the press conference after the Denmark match on tv.  Ronaldo said more or less the same thing.

He sat back and watched his team get eliminated.  He should have taken the fourth kick.  Like I said above more than once, it was either his call or the coach's.  Either way, horrible decision.

I don't give a fuck whether he is bothered by what people say about him or not.  Although, he clearly is.

"Excuse" John Terry?  Who did that? Dude is a horrible human being and an overly violent defender, exactly the kind of player the English love.

Ronaldo was definitely Portugal's best player in the tournament.

Let's not get into the who's better game with Messi and CR7. They are both very, very good footballers. Both scored an obscene amount of goals this season ( but none for Messi against Chelsea..lol). Yes RM won La Liga, but Barca won the Copa del Ray. They both were eliminated at the same stage of the CL... Barca has the best midfield in the world. RM has better strikers. Blah, Blah Blah... Who cares?..As far country, Messi has definitely underperformed for Argentina. But so has CR7, until this tournament.

As far as JT, and you know I'm Chelsea through and through, he is a POS off the field. On the field, he is a pretty good defender. I don't really care who's he's banging. But I'm not going to make excuses for him.

Penso, too bad RvP is leaving Arsenal. Clearly their best player.

...And KTBFFH is Russian for....1st London team to lift the " Big Ears"...

Copa Del Rey now matters since that's all Barca won? Hilarious. Pretty sure Serg Ramos was bouncing that off of a Madrid street and no one cared.

Messi has won nothing for Argentina. It is fact. Granted I hate him and am biased but wtf do people see that I do not?

Penso is all mad I called his drunk friends out for killin Ronaldo but I contend it's a perfect Roddick joke.

John Terry is a piece of shit. Do whatever you want with that. Rio isn't in England's best like 8 defenders? Hysterical. Simply crazy. And Jones and Smalling, Rio's backups for his club, showed no conviction in accepting roles for racist England. WTF was Micah Richards?

They almost beat America if not for a Jozy Altidore post job a few years back in the World Cup. How far have they fallen.

Although the USA bet Italy and Spain in the last meeting anyone has cared about.

I meant Netherlands should've kidnapped Ronaldo. Hate all you want that was a fucking masterclass effort. Could've had four. Apparently he was better vs Czech.

Van Persie is leaving? We'll give you Berbatov, one of the useless Brazilian WB twins, and $10 mil. Oh wait United never does anything proactive.

Sounds like Ashley Cole is leaving Chelsea too. I ask myself how the hell could he?? Then I look at his ex-wife. Super fucking hot. Bolted on her arse.

Last question, if people are still reading, how can the US still be this fucking bad?

Hey, Y2J... I can't stand Barca for the record. But they have won 14 trophies in the Pep era. Pretty effing good. I don't like RM either. But they did win La Liga by quite a bit this year. Check that, I do like "The Special One". And Copa del Ray is a pretty big trophy in Spain. It's not like it's Carling Cup.

Why do you hate Messi so much?... Objectively speaking, he is pretty fucking good. Yes, yes, he has a great supporting cast, but that doesn't diminish his talent.

I can't stand CR7. But I acknowledge that he is one of top players in the world. Nobody can take that away from him. I wouldn't agree that your Red Devils haven't won anything since he left. They won the EPL 2 seasons ago ( and were a QPR injury time collapse away from doing it this year). They did make the CL final at Wembley as well. Are they a better team without him? Hell no. But Sir Alex is doing just fine.

Hadn't heard that Cole is leaving Chelsea. Pretty sure he had a new contract a few years ago.

I already agreed with you the JT is a POS, but he is a pretty good defender. It looks like Cahill and David Luiz will be Chelsea's central defense in the years to come. Cahill was unlucky to miss the Euros with that broken jaw.

The US is bad because they lack midfield power and a true striker. LD is getting on in his years and Dempsey can't carry the team.
