Out-frickin'-standing.
It's preseason game #1. Mistakes are irritating, but expected. If it's still happening in game #3, then I'll be concerned. All I care about are giving guys reps and avoiding injuries. Good to hear that Adams' injury doesn't appear serious, but Johnson's sucks. Hopefully they can adjust accordingly.
Speaking of things that irritate me:
Via Sheil Kapadia at phillymag.com, Rodgers-Cromartie was asked about the hit after Monday morning's practice:
Has he received any notification about a fine from the league?
"No."
Does he expect to receive a fine?
"No."
Does he believe it was a clean hit?
"Yes sir, no question."
Any regrets? Maybe wish he would have tackled Leftwich differently?
"Regrets? We're playing football, man," Rodgers-Cromartie said. "The Bible said don't live a life of regret."
WUT? What year is it again??!!
Somebody please, PLEASE,
PLEASE explain to me how that's not an illegal hit that deserves a fine/suspension.
I shudder to think what the masses would be clamoring if Silverback hit a QB like that.
The fact that DRC is smaller than Leftwich, hence the hit appears less violent, should have NO bearing on the decision. In fact, you can make the argument that it's as bad or worse than either the Massoquoi or McCoy hits.
The guy left his feet and launched himself like a missile at the QB's head, FFS!!!
I know they're all replacement refs, but c'mon...
