Ladies and gentlemen, this coming Saturday (6/22) is my final class at the Dallas Comedy House, our group graduates the program the following day.  It has been a blast, one of the most positive, life-changing things I've done in recent years.

There are six of us who have found a coach and will be continuing the journey, attempting to become a troupe and earn some legit stage time, I'll let you know how that goes.  Three of our guys have already auditioned for and made the newest house troupe and are on the regular schedule.  I saw their first show and they're fucking great.

So, get out there people and do stuff.  You won't regret it.

Last night our little troupe, Juan Direction, performed in the King of the Mountain improv competition and defeated the defending champs according to the crowd vote!  As such, we have earned stage time for another week.  The hunter becomes the hunted.  It was our first real performance at the Comedy House.  The room was full and we had a blast.  The journey continues ...

Alas, we were defeated last night.  That's alright though because we agreed that our show was better than the one the week before!  So, we'll toss our name back in the hat and take another shot at a later date.  Our coach said if we keep doing well, they'll put us on the schedule, even if it's just a Thursday or Sunday evening.

So the goal now is that, get on the schedule for shows the audience paid to see.

The troupe that defeated us last time canceled their show so we took their place at last night's King of the Mountain.  I think we were supposed to be cannon fodder for the hot new troupe that has all the cool kids who are already in performing troupes.

So we had our best show yet and beat their arses!  BAM!  It was a tie, so we had a quick scene featuring 3 players from each troupe then a crowd-noise vote.  Yup, Juan Direction came out on top (thanks in large part to my daughter's loud mouth)!

So we're back for another show next week.

So when do you plan to video one of these shows and post it here so we can all see what the big deal is? Wink

OK Chris. Now that we have practiced kissing and cuddling, we'll practice eating out...at a fancy restaurant.
