Finny told me last week, he was a big fan of the squirgroundsum for thanksgiving dinner. Best if all three are fresh killed off the road!
If you hit it, I can grill it.
In all seriousness, when we got our house in 2000, we decided to take on Thanksgiving to give my MiL a break, and because my side of the fams is ... a long story. So this is the 12th year I kicked out the jams.
Oysters rockefeller, stuffed mushrooms, and curried pumpkin soup for apps; mains were turkey roulades (sausage and mushroom stuffing, encased in bacon), my signature smoked salmon, and the MiL brought a ham; sides were glazed carrots, mashed potatoes, stuffing balls, Nana's cran relish (Mom), and roasted Brussels sprouts with pecans and bleu cheese; desserts were pumpkin pie (MiL/Costco), berry pie (local orchard's pre-made), and Mom's cheesecake. Scratches from the menu - cole slaw and rosemary-bourbon sweet potato pie. Seriously enough without those.
Heineken, wine and champagne, and things that Penso would enjoy.
Friday and Saturday, assplant on the sofa, leftovers, football, leftovers, nap, football, leftovers, etc.
I enjoy kicking out a bigassed feast for friends and family once a year. Once a year is enough though.
