As of week 16, Steelers would draft at 1.14, due to record and SOS.  If I am looking at this correctly, Steelers could move up as high as 1.11 (aka, the Roethlisberger spot) with wins by Chargers over Raiders, Panthers over Saints, and Bucs over Falcons (who have zero to play for).  This assumes a loss to the Browns, but Tomlin will probably fuck that up, too.  So, worst case, we win over the Browns, and Giants lose to Philly, Miami loses to NE, Rams lose to Seattle, and Dallas loses to Washington, that could drop us all the way to 1.19.

So most likely, our draft range will be 1.11 - 1.19, and just like this team we'll end the season "strong" and go closer to 1.19.

Here's a starter BBV that is nothing more than a framework for the real draft stuff:

Taking a cue from this early list, I wouldn't mind something like:

1.) OLB   Bjoern Werner - Florida State - Jr - 6'4" 256 (I think he'll probably go between 8 and 12, so a trade-up may be required)
2.) RB   Marcus Lattimore - South Carolina - Jr - 6'0" 232
3.) TE   Joseph Fauria - UCLA - rSr - 6'7" 255
4.) ILB   Kevin Reddick - North Carolina - Sr - 6'2" 240
5.) FS   Zeke Motta - Notre Dame - Sr - 6'2" 215
6.) OLB   Travis Long - Washington State - Sr - 6'4" 245
7.) WR   Cody Hoffman - Brigham Young - Jr - 6'3" 215

Hey guys... havent posted for a while but when we have a shot at a top half of the draft pick I get more excited for the draft. If I am looking correctly at the current standings I think the worst we can pick would be 17th. The Giants & Cowboys both are 8 and 7 and have SOS of .544 and .511 respectively. Since we have a SOS of .476 even with a win vs the Browns I dont think we can jump those 2 teams even if they tie us at 8 and 8. Does this sound right?

I picked it apart and came up with 1.19, but hells, I could be wrong.  Anyway, Browns seem ready to screw our chances to go 7-9 by having no one at QB.  Weeden is out, McCoy is out, I don't know who the fuck they have under center this week.  Probably just screwing with our draft position, the dicks.

When did the Pirates management take control of the Steelers?  They can't even lose properly!

First time in a long time that I can't think of one position that doesn't need a high draft pick to help right away.  Even at QB we can consider a development project, although we can't afford that in rounds 1-3.

Lattimore has great potential, but not excited about spending a mid-round 2 on that gamble with all the other needs we have.

Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah Highlight Reel - OFFICIAL

This kid is quickly rising up my R1 wish list.  Great size, speed, and versatility.  Thicker than Dion Jordan, more versatile than Margus Hunt, and he's only just scratched the surface of his potential.  Played 5-tech, 3-tech, and even 0-tech at BYU, could see him playing OLB, DE, and maybe sliding inside to ILB on blitzes.  Dick LeBeau would have fun with him, much like he loves fitting Pola into multiple roles.  Oh, he's 6'5", 270#, runs in the 4.6-4.7 range, and he can easily add another 15#-20# as a pro.

I'll miss James Harrison, but...

There's an interesting cluster of S talent from about 1b-2b.  Could push a guy like this to us.  He's not 5'11", more like 5'10", but can play FS or SS.

I watch little college FB these days but I did catch the SMU bowl game.

Margus Hunt had a hell of a game.  No idea how high he projects but I think he looked really good
