Was thinking the same thing. Every time Flacco just seemed to heave it to a spot (over the past weeks), the Ravens WR made the catch.

And did anyone see the Fox Sports front page that said Flacco would join the elite QB company if he won? The elite QBs pictured were Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers. I guess Joe gets to leapfrog Eli and Ben.

Flacco's a competent QB who made no mistakes in the post-season.  If any of the postseason teams knew the cardinal rule on Flacco, the Ravens would have lost:  don't let their speed guys burn you deep.  Flacco's stats sans the occasional long ball are rather pedestrian.  You contain Jones and Smith deep, what's Flacco?  Very average.

Ridiculous how teams got beaten on the deep ball again and again.

Which is why I am still incredulous that the DCs for the Broncos and Pats and 49ers couldn't figure it out.  Let Mr. Elite matriculate the ball downfield on short timing passes to Boldin and Pitta and wait for him to fuck up.
