I saw a rumor on Smizik's blog in the p-g, claimed Florio as the source.

That woud be the perfect destination for him.  He'd have about 32 catches next year.

No doubt Wallace is gone.

Frankly, I don't see how they're gonna be able to keep any of their FAs this year.  Something like 15 million over the cap?  If they do, Lewis and Starks would definitely be higher priority, IMO.

Looks like he is going to be a Brown Stain:  "According to CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora, many in the organization believe the division-rival Cleveland Browns are Wallace's most likely landing spot next month."  Here is the complete story:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000138181/article/mike-wallace-could-end-up-with-steelers-division-rival

Not excited about it but it does make some sence....

What sucks is that he'll get his head together for two games a year, both against PGH.

I would change that to "Lewis" alone. I don't think they'll do this dance with Starks anymore, unless it's at an absolute minimum. Looks like Steelers are heading towards zone blocking, and Starks doesn't fit:

I have to say, I'm pretty surprised at all the love Wallace is generally getting from the media.  The longer his FA drags on, the more love he's getting.  Somebody's in for some serious buyer's remorse with that move.

Yeah, I get that you can't teach speed, but there's also a reason why there aren't a shit ton of track stars at WR in the NFL.  It's nice that he can turn a drag route into a 65 yard TD by outrunning everybody, but nobody talks about the fact that he can't make a catch if it's not gift wrapped for him.

Gonna predict that his career arc has peaked.  He won't have a better season than the ones he's had in Pittsburgh.  If you think that 750-850YDS/7TDs is worth 5YR/60MIL/30BONUS, well, he's your guy.  As much as he wants to think he's a #1, he's not.

This is just the '13 version of 'Stonio.

You can have him at that price.  More power to him, he is set for life.

They had tons of cap space and needed a WR.  So, yeah.  And that, my friends, should definitely help our 2014 compensatory pick situation.
